About
Radio Calderdale
Radio Calderdale has been providing entertainment to listeners in Calderdale hospitals for nearly 25 years. We broadcast free of charge on Channel 10 direct to the bedsides of those staying at Calderdale Royal Hospital. Our aim is to provide a professional but personal service to make listeners' stays in hospital more enjoyable, and aid a speedy recovery. We increase the morale of those in the hospital by regularly visiting them on the wards, taking their requests, letting them know about the latest events and just being a friendly face. When we're not there in person, we are there to provide the best in radio entertainment from studios within the hospital building. Our team of talented presenters bring listeners shows from every syle of music, from classic rock to modern dance, motown to this week's charts. We also provide the latest in local news, and interviews with local and national personalities. In association with the Victoria Theatre, we regularly broadcast special theatrical and musical productions live to the listeners. Live sport is also catered for, thanks to partnerships with Halifax Town FC and Halifax RLFC. The station is run by an army of volunteers that give their time free of charge. Radio Calderdale is a Registered Charity (no. 512686) and is run on an entirely not-for-profit basis. All of our running costs are covered through the generous donations by the public and local businesses, alongside regular fundraising events. We are
